Coming in hot to 2019, Brisbane trio Silver Citizen are clocking up their fifth single with new track 'Years Behind Me' set to unleash tomorrow. Starting life in 2016 as a reincarnation of a previous musical project, the combination of Jimmy Wenham (lead vocals/guitar), Andy Kellie (bass) and David "Double Kick Dave" Hensler (drums) has culminated in significant evolution with this latest release - 'Years Behind Me' dishes out an absorbing combination of swaying beats, weighty riffs and potent vocals that dabble in hypnotic textures and a touches of 90s rock amongst distinctly unique and occasionally progressive flavours.
Recorded and mixed by Silver Citizen's bass-man/principal groove engineer Andy Kellie at Empire Studios in Brisbane and mastered by Steve Smart of Studios 301 (Midnight Oil Icehouse, DZ Deathrays, Tash Sultana'), 'Years Behind Me' pulls out some sublimely dramatic stops while lyrically reflecting on past relationships and emotional introspection, a fact reflected in the accompanying music video directed by frontman Jimmy Wenham and edited/produced/shot by Declan Sinclair.
Having already commanded stages across Brisbane and playing alongside fellow legends Roadhouse, Port Royal, The Stranger, Trapdoor, Dopamine and The Drafts, Silver Citizen are set to launch their brand new baby live in action tomorrow at The Foundry in Brisbane, with another QLD show to follow at Currumbin Pub on the Gold Coast on Friday 26th April.
