TAKE A WALK ON THE DARK SIDE WITH SOME QUIVERING POST-ELECTRO ART ROCK FROM IMMERSIVE MELBOURNE COLLECTIVE FIERCE MILD AND THEIR BRAND NEW TRACK 'DEATH'S KINGDOM' PREMIERING TODAY ON THE SOUNDCHECK.
Increasingly revered for their scintillating soundscapes and cinematic tendencies, Fierce Mild sit squarely somewhere between sonic wakefulness and sleep. But while their dark and absorbing musical dreamworlds lap at the shores of post-rock, the six-piece's blend of climactic guitars and woozy vocals sets them outside the usual "sounds like" connotations, instead building worlds that synesthetic dreams are made of, as their latest track 'Death's Kingdom' firmly displays.
Signalling our first look into Fierce Mild's forthcoming debut album, title track 'Death's Kingdom' is a rousing flip between compelling calm and transcendent tension as the group journey an emotional wilderness of dark and deep contemplation, as frontman Troy Rainbow explains: "A suicidal contemplation in an attempt to escape the pain of being trapped in a physical form. In a visit to an afterlife, the questions are too confronting. The mind returns to the body convincing yourself that no one can see any of your actions - giving you impunity for everything you do on earth".
With their debut full-length due out on Friday 26th July, there's not a huge wait to wrap your brain around a whole horde of outrageously mesmerising tunes from this Melbourne lot. But in the meantime, you can go and shower your senses in waves of dysphoric bliss and check out 'Death's Kingdom' below before it officially releases tomorrow!
