SINGLE: Rain Falls // ARTIST: Xavia
Live-looping cellist and engrossing multi-instrumentalist XAVIA dives head first into a lush utopia inspired by a natural Aussie icon with her brand new track 'Rain Falls' that dropped last week.
Originally hailing from Adelaide, XAVIA (formerly of the triple j unearthed-winning duo BrotherSister) now bases herself in the vibrant cultural hub of Alice Springs, with the Northern Territory largely inspiring her latest ethereal outing 'Rain Falls'.
Building on her previous successes with her 2018 track 'Horizons', 'Rain Falls' weaves tribal rhythmics through unfurling electro-folk, gently wrapped up by XAVIA's hypnotic vocals into a silken serene dream that captures a sonically tactile sense of desert storms thundering across ancient landscapes, as XAVIA explains: "[Rain Falls] sparked from the striking image of Uluru in a desert sun shower, glistening like royalty and leading me to reflect on how humans wear their own storms".
Equal parts mesmerising and memorable, 'Rain Falls' is a blissful outing for XAVIA, proving further why she has been so increasingly in demand on festival circuits both at home and across the country (performing alongside the likes of Kardajala Kirridalla, Haiky Hands, Hiatus Kaiyote, Dami Im and Electric Fields along the way).
Whatever comes next for XAVIA, rest-assured there will be some more dreamy electronic-folk on the horizon from this very talented artist. But in the meantime, go check out her brand new track below, and for all other info head HERE.
