It's been a white hot minute since Baltimore hardcore chameleons Turnstile swept into the limelight off the back of releasing 2021's GLOW ON; an album that not only snagged the group several Grammy Award nominations, but one that also displayed the group's dexterity expanding beyond any fixed genre notions and living up to any and all hype in the process.
Now set to release their first fill-length album in four years, today Turnstile have announced their eagerly-awaited new album NEVER ENOUGH, locked in for release on June 6 - and as icing on the cake today, they've also dropped the album's title track and an accompanying music video directed by Turnstile's own Brendan Yates and Pat McCrory.
Opening with gossamer ambience, NEVER ENOUGH wallows in mellow sonic waters before ultimately expanding into soaring strings, sharpened riffs and cascading drums. It's a buoyant yet still energetic slice from Turnstile, with the equally ethereal outro tantalisingly leaving us hanging in the final moments as Daniel Fang's drums ramp up and abruptly cut off, undoubtedly leading into a future follow up track to come.
Recorded between Los Angeles and their homes in Baltimore, the upcoming album NEVER ENOUGH is produced by Turnstile’s Brendan Yates. The expansive collection is a restless and exhilarating evolution of the band’s genre-defying sound. A transformative journey, both fearless and alive, by one of the most forward-thinking and influential bands of their generation.
Turnstile is Brendan Yates (Voice / Synth / Keys ), Franz Lyons (Bass), Pat McCrory (Guitar), Daniel Fang (Drums), and the band's freshly-confirmed permanent addition: Meg Mills (Guitar). Since forming in 2010, Turnstile have never stopped moving forward.
