Currently sailing the seven seas on a massive overseas jaunt (including appearances at Sabaton Open Air and Wacken Open Air), everyone's favourite pirate metal rapscallions Lagerstein have also announced another huge venture for 2019 - their third studio album 25/7 due out this August.
Led by Captain Gregnarr, this Brissie band of buccaneers have carved up a towering reputation as Australia's premier pirate metal outfit, with a heap of sold-out shows at home and multiple stints in Europe over the years, now culminating in their upcoming release '25/7'. Promising a glittering treasure trove of twelve jaunty, colourful and undeniably boozy sea shanties, ‘25/7’ is set to be a coveted keepsake for any self-disrespecting, yellow-toothed swashbuckler!
Having hit the studio earlier in the year in Sweden to team up with renowned producer Frederik Nordström (Bring Me The Horizon, Arch Enemy, In Flames, Soilwork), Lagerstein's upcoming album will slide into port on August 23rd via Kegstand Records. Boasting traditionally seaworthy instrumentation alongside distortion, blasting vocals and lyrical odes to rum, drunken parrots and shoeys, '25/7' will no doubt continue the seven-piece act's legacy as one of the greatest "party bands" of modern metal.
Of the album's title, the band explain: "What could be better than partying for 24 hours? Sailing west and stealing an extra hour of daylight so we can party 25/7!". The Lagerstein lads are currently living their best pirate lives on their huge 'Endless Rum' tour across Europe, the UK and Australia, but it won't be long before we can soak up some brand new tunes. So ready your sea legs and all the rum you can carry before August 23rd rolls around.
