After his amazing experiences in 2016 and 2017 with the Heavy Metal Truants rides, legendary Aussie music publicist Chris Maric is returning to the UK this year to take part once again in a truly epic journey; saddling up for the near 300km bicycle ride from London to Castle Donington and the UK Download Festival between June 12th and 14th with the Heavy Metal Truants, Maric won't just be rolling in to the insanely epic lineup awaiting at the finish line - the ride will also be raising money for children's charities.
The seventh annual Heavy Metal Truants ride, officially dubbed 'HMT VII - Seven Deadly Spins' in honour of its Iron Maiden connections, will bring together a group of heavy music industry heroes come together to raise money for Nordoff Robbins, Teenage Cancer Trust and Childline.
Agents, managers, promoters, publicists, record labels, media organisations, artists and members of the public have signed up for this upcoming gruelling challenge, with each rider pledging to raise a minimum of £1350 (approx. $2500AUD).
The journey won't be easy, but nothing worthwhile ever is - there will be hills, heat and hangovers, but Chris Maric has been in training for months already to face the task ahead. Chris is honoured to be representing Australia for the Seventh Annual Truants Ride, and he will be posting updates along the way so you can witness the pain in his body but the glory on his face. The Heavy Metal Truants goal this year is to smash their massive combined total across the previous six rides of £580 000 to reach (of course) £666 000.
