Last night the music industry came together in Brisbane to celebrate women's contributions and achievements across all areas of the industry with the second annual Australian Women In Music Awards taking place at the Brisbane Powerhouse. The Soundcheck was extremely honoured to be attending the stellar night which boasted a range of incredible performances and a chance to shine a light on women, First Nations, Multicultural artists and members of the LGBTQIA who make up this sensational industry.
Spanning 15 award categories, the 2019 AWMAs certainly dazzled and delighted and yet again proved its worth in championing gender and cultural equality in a positive and jubilant setting. But it wouldn't be an awards night without some winners, with Joy McKean, Christine Anu, Mojo Juju, Alice Skye, Caroline Almonte, Ange McCormack and Katie Noonan amongst the ladies taking home the titles for the 2019 event.
