This has been a tough year for people in the music industry; but this Friday 20th November there is something you can do to help, as AusMusic T-Shirt Day returns for a very worth cause.
Ausmusic T-Shirt Day is a massive nation-wide celebration of Australian music that reminds us how lucky we are to have such a strong local music scene, with many highly talented and successful artists across all genres of music. But this year has been a wipeout! Due to COVID-19, all tours and festivals have been cancelled; venues closed; careers are on hold.
Practically everyone working in live music - that’s artists, crew and music workers - have lost their jobs and their income, and the future is anything but certain.
The demand for Support Act’s services has never been greater! Requests for crisis relief have increased 883% since March and mental health and well-being support has increased by 52%. You can help by repping your favourite Ausmusic T-Shirt on Friday 20 November and making a donation via the Ausmusic T-Shirt Day website.
This can be through an individual donation or you can create a team fundraising page and invite your friends, family, work colleagues and social networks to donate in support your efforts. Don’t forget to post your photos to socials using the hashtags #ausmusictshirtday, @supportact, @triple_j, @aria_official
Ausmusic T-Shirt Day is a lot of fun and a great way to support the many Australian artists from all genres who will be participating in the campaign. It is proudly support by triple j and ARIA and is held as part of ARIA Week and Ausmusic Month.
