INTERVIEW: Davey Lane


From joining his childhood heroes onstage to becoming an iconic stalwart in his own right in the Australian music scene, Davey Lane is an intriguing and enduring fixture in the world of modern rock and roll. Not one for the glitz and glamour that so heavily permeates many longing for even a taste of the accolades and prestige lining Lane's career, there's equal parts startling authenticity and in-built flair to everything Davey sets his creative mind to, whether lending some shred as a potent addition with You Am I and Jimmy Barnes, or unveiling his own solo tunes after a lifetime of honing his craft.


While undoubtedly a figure renowned for his efforts alongside a staggering array of Aussie greats over the years, Davey Lane is ultimately a rare breed, balancing scintillating writing with effortless musicianship and, as demonstrated on his upcoming album Don't Bank Your Heart On It, an artist truly capable of casting his own indomitable shadow in a solo capacity (as well as bringing a few famous friends along for the ride).
