With the return of the Australian Women In Music Awards this year, it offers a chance to celebrate and recognise the incredible achievements of female, gender diverse and First Nations artists across every corner of the Australian music industry.

Set to take place this year from 8 - 9 October in Brisbane, nominations for the awards are now officially live! Do you know someone doing incredible work within the music industry? A trailblazer, a quiet achiever, an audio engineer or a producer, a leader?

As someone who unexpectedly found themselves walking up onto that stage in 2024 to receive the Heavy Music Award, I can tell you that while awards and accolades certainly aren't often the driving force for a lot of us, especially behind the scenes, I will never be able to quite describe that moment of not only reflecting on my own journey to date, but the journeys of every single woman in that room. Our industry, celebrating one another (and a big huge shout out for the Heavy Music love as well!!).
